PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) Injections
Acute injury stimulates a cascade of events on the cellular level along with a multitude of signals that occur in your immune system. However, in long term recurring injury or in patients of more mature age, this process may be delayed or dysfunctional all together. Your platelets can be concentrated by a process of centrifugation to pool the proteins that are produced by these cells for therapeutic function. Amongst these functions are recruitment of cells that heal specific tissue from tendon to ligament to muscle. In short, one can harness these effects in an effort to accelerate the natural process of healing.
Bioidentical Hormone Therapy
While there are a multitude of drugs available to address the symptoms of Menopause and Andropause, none of them have all the beneficial effects of bioidentical hormones. These therapies can not only be preventative but also actively treat ongoing symptoms associated with Menopause and Andropause. Are your hormone deficiency symptoms being treated with medications that your body doesn't naturally make? If so, take some time to talk with one of our physicians about how you may be able to improve your approach to your treatments.
Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT)
Oxygen therapy at pressures higher than atmospheric pressure has been shown to improve wound healing, brain fog, effects of traumatic brain injury, cellular function and other clinical outcomes. With today's HBOT chambers, one is able to read, work on their computer, have drinks and phone conversations while receiving the benefits of HBOT. Our physicians have received the benefits of this therapy first hand.
F.A.Q.
Common Questions regarding PRP and Bioidentical Hormone Therapy:
PRP, when injected & coming into contact with collagen, allows proteins released from platelets to signal the immune system to repair tissue, ligament and tendon. PRP recreates a similar environment that one sees with a bone fracture which allows the body to heal itself over time.
Active cancer.
Infection over the area to be injected.
Medications that interfere with PRP therapy.
PRP is used for cosmetic, dental, & orthopedic treatments. It can also improve hair growth & girth.
Currently, most insurance companies do not cover PRP therapies. We prefer to steer clear of insurance companies dictating your healthcare decisions and access.
Accidentally injecting steroid into a tendon can cause early rupture of the tendon. The same is not true for PRP.
